Summer Camps 2019
Shielbaggan OETC offers a number of different summer camps. These generally take place during July and August and are designed for young people between the age of 8 and 18. Summer camps run over five days, from Monday to Friday, 09:30am to 4:00pm. Your child can attend for one day or all five. Over the five days the young people will get the opportunity to try all the activities that we offer at Shielbaggan.
The programmes are weather dependant, meaning that the activities may change depending on the weather conditions. 
Our highly qualified staff will provide all the expert instruction required, so you can relax safe in the knowledge that your children are having an exciting and enjoyable day and will be making great friends and learning new skills.
Summer camps book up fast so get in early to avoid disappointment.
Dates of this years summer camps are listed below.
- Little Explorers This camp provides as many opportunities as possible for your kids to enjoy their time outdoors playing & exploring. Our instructors ensure that the natural environment plays a key role in this exploration (5-7 years).
- Junior Adventure weeks are based on the multi-activity Adventure programme but caters for a younger group (8-11 years).
- Adventure weeks are our flagship camps and are aimed at the 12 to 16 year age group. The week is broken between a variety of adventure activities including; white water kayaking, surfing, climbing, caving and our highly popular Coasteering. It’s a week not to be missed!
- Expedition camps are aimed at the 14 to 18 year age group and require some previous experience such as the Adventure programme. This programme consists of an overnight camping expedition which is planned by the students and instructors. Last years expedition brought us on an overnight adventure to Wicklow where we traversed to St Kevins Bed in Glendalough and spent the next day Canyoning on the Avonmore River. An adventure not to be missed!
